Lymphoma
The lymphoma is a type of cancer which affects the lymphatic system. The lymphoma describes the group of cancers in the lymphatic system. Lymphoma are categorised in to two namely Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This type of cancer is of spreading one and more than half of all blood cancers occur because of lymphomas. Almost ten percent of all the cases of lymphoma which are diagnosed each year are the Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
The lymphoma is as a result of the white blood cells which suffer the malicious changes and then they start to multiply. While they start to increase, these cells exceed the healthy cells and create a number of tumours. Generally the starting point of the lymphoma is the nodes or the lymph tissues which are found in the intestines or stomach. In most of the case of lymphoma, blood and bone marrow will also be affected. There are many lymph nodes in our body and the lymphoma can start from any of them. Lymphoma, like all other cancers, will spreads to other parts of the body.
The symptoms of lymphoma are not enough to diagnose this disease, because they are also associated with other diseases as well. Some of the most common symptoms of the lymphoma are the inflated nodes, which are painless is the primary sign of lymphoma. Anemia, lose of weight and tiredness also states that you are affected from lymphoma. Fever and sweating, in the night time without any reason, brevity of breath, persistent cough are also some of the symptoms which indicate lymphoma.
There are many risk factors which contribute to the development of the lymphoma. Age and gender are the two principal risk factors of lymphoma. When one gets older, the risk of lymphoma cancer increases. The major part of the people who suffers from the lymphoma is more than fifty. Men have more risk of getting affected by this disease. The environment which we work or live are also important. More exposure to chemicals such as pesticides, solvents, weed killers, also results in lymphoma. People having weak immune system have a great risk of lymphoma. Moreover, there are also viruses which lead to lymphoma. Epsin-Barr virus of is one of the viruses which can increase the risk of developing lymphoma.
Indications of the lymphoma are mainly connected to inflated glands. The irregular lymphocytes do not carry out it its ordinary functions to protect the body from infections. The person with lymphoma becomes more inclined to infections of any type. Part of the functions of the lymphocytes implies to help the body’s immune system and to fight against infection and other forms of diseases. Where a person has lymphoma, his immune system will be deteriorated and it can not fight against infections more effectively.
